Jesus never intended His church to choose between faithfully proclaiming biblical truth and demonstrating the power of the Holy Spirit. In His ministry, the message of the kingdom and the power of the kingdom were inseparable. He announced the reign of God while healing the sick, delivering the oppressed, and setting people free.
This raises important questions for the church today. Have we become satisfied with proclaiming truths we rarely expect to see demonstrated? Have we pursued supernatural experiences without remaining firmly grounded in the message Jesus preached? And what would it look like for the church to recover the fullness of the ministry Jesus entrusted to His followers?

Jesus has called His church to more than words without power or spiritual experiences without truth. As we recover both the message and the power of the kingdom, we can more faithfully represent our King and continue His ministry in the world today.
