Jesus said unless a person is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Yet even believers can misunderstand the kingdom when they view it through politics, social reform, cultural dominion, future-only theology, or shallow ideas about going to heaven when we die. The kingdom of God is much bigger than that. It is the reign of God through Jesus Christ as King—established wherever His will is done, His authority is obeyed, and His power is manifested. From Genesis to Revelation, Scripture reveals the kingdom as purposed in eternity, promised by the prophets, inaugurated by Jesus, present now through the Spirit-empowered church, and future when Christ returns.
